About the project¶
AMX is the open-source side of that work — a CLI for the long-tail problem of undocumented database schemas across the data platforms data engineers actually use day to day. Apache 2.0, free for any use including commercial, with the explicit goal of staying community-driven rather than vendor-locked.

Co-maintainers wanted¶
AMX is currently a single-maintainer project. Long-term sustainability requires more hands. If you're a data engineer who's run AMX in production, written a backend adapter, or has experience with metadata catalogs (DataHub, OpenMetadata, Atlan, Collibra) and wants to help shape the project, the door is open:
- Open a GitHub Discussion describing how you'd like to contribute
- File good-first-issue PRs against github.com/omeryasirkucuk/amx
- Email omeryasirkucuk@gmail.com for co-maintainer / sponsorship conversations
Sponsors: none yet — happy to talk to organisations using AMX in production who'd like to fund maintenance, benchmark publication, or specific features (priority backend support, MCP server, hosted catalog UI). Recognition in the README + this page.
